Why I’m Running for Public Office

Dear Editor:

As a father raising a family of four children with my wife, Nicole, in Mohegan Lake, I share your concerns about the State government overreaching into our lives by over-taxing due to over-spending. I want to do something about it. That is why I am running for the New York State Assembly in the 99th District.

I’m a veterinarian, a small businessman like many of you, shackled by too many taxes, fees, and regulations. I share your disgust over the Metro-North payroll tax and rising property taxes. We’re paying for debt and fraud in Albany. They should be protecting our businesses instead of picking our pockets.

We the people aren’t going to take it anymore. We must take back our State government. I am not a career politician. I have an analytic mind. I know how to create jobs. I can provide the oversight for a forensic audit of the State budget—line by line. Most important, I have the common sense of a tax payer with real world experience. I know how to read and understand a budget and balance sheet.

We need every district to offer a citizen statesman, a candidate like myself to rise up and win their elections. Then, together, watch us flush out the effluvium that is the New York State Legislature. We’re sick of politicians whose primary concern seems to be their own reelection, of “going along to get along”—and allowing business as usual to continue on all levels of government. All of these self serving career politicians, certainly not statesmen, should be fired on Election Day for breach of the public trust.

Taxes take too many of our hardearned dollars from us, with nothing in return. We’re living taxation without representation, taxation without benefit and taxation wasted on topheavy bureaucracy. Our children suffer because Albany fails to fairly return our tax dollars to support our local schools. We must stop the evil that public debt and corruption will inflict upon future generations, to protect our children and grandchildren.

As your Assemblyman, I pledge to fight for the people of this District and our State. Together, we CAN annihilate corruption, lower taxes and make New York the magnet again for new businesses that it once was; and must be again.

This is an entirely grass-roots campaign. Your energy, ideas and votes are essential to do what they say is impossible. The Great Second American Revolution, this time at the ballot box, is upon us. We’re on that front line with our fellow New Yorkers. Come aboard and join us, volunteer and help us show the nation that New Yorkers CAN right what’s wrong. We the people will re-establish our state again as the Empire State.
