Rotary Fish and Chips dinner takes place Friday

Eric Gross

Do you enjoy freshly prepared fish and good company while benefiting the young people of the community?

Stop by Friday at George’s Place in downtown Carmel when members of the Carmel Rotary Club sponsor their 15th annual Fish and Chips dinner.

The event gets underway at 4pm with dinner including salad, fresh fish, fries, hush puppies, dessert and a beverage. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $10 for children under 12. Kids can enjoy chicken nuggets if they prefer.

Gus and Karen Pourakis, owners of George’s Place, once again will open their restaurant to the community after hours so members of the Rotary will be able to raise money for a variety of scholarships offered each year.

Long time Rotarian Al Lotrecchiano has encouraged the public to participate: “The evening is very enjoyable as neighbor meets neighbor. People come from far and wide for the fundraiser. The food is always delicious and the company is even better.”

Reservations can be made by contacting any member of the Carmel Rotary or by stopping at George’s and purchasing a ticket.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door on Friday evening.
