Frederick Henry Lent Jr.
Born July 18, 1932 in Peekskill, he was the only son of Frederick and Helen (Seward) Lent. He grew up in Buchanan and graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School in 1950. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He married Eleanor (Totten) Lent and they lived in Verplanck, where he passed away at him home on March 7, 2010. Eleanor Lent grew up on Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster. in 1991 Fred retired the from Metro- North Railroad, where he was a radio maintainer, due to poor health. Fred was an avid bowler, played the trumpet, and belonged to a radio club. He is survived by his wife Elly; two daughters, Tammy Laird, her husband Rick, and their son Joshua, and Jacqueline Townsend, her husband Trent, and their daughter Melissa; two sons, Frederick III, his wife Kelley, and their children Frederick IV, and daughter Ashley; and son James and his son Austin. Frederick is also survived by his grandson Christopher Tompkins, who he raised from a child as his own. He was predeceased by his parents and his grandson Trevor Townsend. Private funeral arrangements were made.
