Brewster Lady Bulldogs U12 Hockey Wins Championship
Over the weekend of March 5-7, the girls traveled to Potsdam, NY to compete against the top tier II teams from across the state.
Representing Putnam County on the Lady Bulldogs are Captains, Kimberly Harker and Carly Weigold of Mahopac and Katie Leonard of Carmel.
During the preliminary round, Brewster won their bracket by defeating Niagara and Clifton Park and tying Lake Placid. In the elimination round, the Lady Bulldogs came out on fire and pumped six goals past the defenseless Hamburg goalie on their way to a 6-1 victory. The Championship game saw the Lady Bulldogs in a rematch against the physical Lake Placid squad. At the end of regulation, the Brewster Lady Bulldogs had won 3-0 and were crowned New York State Champions.
With the victory, the Lady Bulldogs qualified for the National Championship Tournament to be held in Michigan. This is the second straight year these girls have won the state title. Congratulations and best of luck at the National Championships representing the State of New York. Make us proud. The Lady Bulldogs play out of Brewster Ice Arena in Brewster (brewstericearena.
