Rams Rough Up Horace Greeley
Anderson wins for third time – and has five RBI
CARMEL—Sooner or later, the Carmel High baseball team is going to have to throw someone other than Ian Anderson out there, but for now Anderson has been The Man on the mound for the Rams – winning all three of Carmel’s games so far this season, the last being a 10-4 decision over Greeley last Thursday in Chappaqua.
Anderson gave up eight hits, struck out 11 and walked four in a completegame performance.
“Ian was great,” Rams manager Bob Shilling said. “Greeley is a good team, and I like the way he attacked the zone, he pitched real well. He stayed ahead in the count, and trusted his fielders.”
Carmel’s offense took care of the rest.
And Anderson, again, played a major role, driving in five runs and going 3-for-4 with a homer. Brandon Lugo had three RBI and homered, Chris Harlin and Nick Palmiero each drove in a run, and Bret Viola went 2-for-4.
“Anderson had a great game,” Shilling said. “We faced a good pitcher – Trevor Ganzi - and we hit the ball well against him. And I was very happy we played a complete game defensively. Our outfield made some good plays, and we played good defense.”
The Rams were set to host John Jay today (Thursday) at 4:15 p.m., and visit Kennedy Monday at 4:30 p.m.
