New Fire Substation Proposal
The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Brewster-Southeast Joint Fire District is pleased to announce that its proposal for a new fire substation at 390 Milltown Road is scheduled for a vote at the Brewster Fire Department’s Charles K. Doyle Station One located at Route 312 and North Brewster Road from 6pm to 9pm on April 27, 2010. Full Story

Survivor Game a big hit at Carmel Middle School
The popular Survivor Game has taken on a new twist, thanks to the staff at the George Fischer Middle School library.
Students have discussed 16 books in recent weeks and voted for their favorites, which prevented them from being booted off the “island.” Full Story
Read and Share at Fulmar Road School
Reading role models from a variety of occupations traveled to the Fulmar Road Elementary School in Mahopac for an event tabbed “Read and Share.”
Two dozen adults volunteered their time and effort last week by reading a book principally about the spirit of wildlife, which is the school’s theme for the 2009-2010 school year. Full Story
