BHS Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent
The number has risen to six, and still counting!
In March four of Brewster High School’s best, brightest, and most athletic signed letters of intent to attend college and university next fall. Last Thursday two additional students signed their agreements to participate in sports while studying at Mercy College in September. Full Story

BREWSTER—The Brewster High baseball team got a strong effort from starter Brian McNamara last Friday, and the Bears walked away with a 4-3 victory over one of the best teams in the section – Lakeland, in a League 1-B game played at Brewster.
The Bears also routed Putnam Valley, 11-2, the prior Wednesday at Brewster. Full Story

BREWSTER—The Brewster High girls lacrosse team was right on the brink of upsetting one of the top teams in the state Saturday, but in the end had to settle for a ‘moral victory,’ as Hauppauge (LI) escaped with an 11-10 win over the Bears in a game played at Brewster.
The way they lost this one had to make it even more of a heartbreaker for the Bears. Full Story
Seniors Lead Carmel in 4-1 Win over Yorktown
CARMEL—The Carmel High softball team got yet another strong pitching performance, and some timely hitting to open league play with a 4-1 win over visiting Yorktown on Thursday.
Senior Monica Schult made the start for the Rams (2-3) and pitched seven innings while striking out three and limiting the Huskers to just one run. Carolyn Farmer made the start for the Huskers Full Story
Meyer’s Six Goals Lead Brewster Laxmen to Win
BREWSTER—Tim Meyer scored six goals and added an assist to lead the Brewster High lacrosse team to a 14-4 victory over Ossining in a game played last Tuesday at Brewster. The Bears also dropped a 13-5 decision to Hauppauge (LI) Saturday at home, and closed the week at 4-5. Full Story
Kennedy Girls Take a Pair from Poughkeepsie
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy Catholic High softball team went to Poughkeepsie on Friday and handed out a 24-1 shellacking, and on Wednesday the Gaels topped the same Pioneers at home, 15-0.
“Now we’re 4-3,” said coach Pat Hogan. “It’s always good to get wins in the league, we’ve played well so hopefully we can keep it up.” Full Story
Put Valley Girls Lax Squad Takes Two Tough Losses
PUTNAM VALLEY—Some coaches would be disappointed with a 2-5 record, which is the record currently owned by Putnam Valley. Three of those losses came from strong schools like Brewster, Mahopac and Fox Lane. This past week the Tigers faced Ossining and Byram Hills, two teams each with one loss at the time. Full Story
Gaels Take Both Ends of Home-and-Home Set
Kennedy piles up 33 runs on 26 hits in wins
SOMERS—The Kennedy Catholic High baseball team pounded Poughkeepsie twice last week in a pair of League 2-B games, rolling the Pioneers 11-3 Friday on the road, after clubbing them 21-0 two days earlier at home.
Friday at Poughkeepsie (0-6, 0-2), Erik Bauer (1-0) picked up the win for Kennedy (6-1, 2-0), striking out seven. Ward took the loss for the Pioneers. Full Story
Offense Powers Indians to Three Straight Wins
MAHOPAC—After struggling to score runs earlier in the season the Mahopac High baseball team got their offense going, scoring 24 runs to go 3-0 last week. The Indians (5-4) started the week strong with a 9-4 win on Tuesday at Ossining, before scoring 15 more against Panas and Greeley on Friday and Saturday. Full Story
Gaels Track Competes in Relays
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy track and field team squad split up Saturday to compete in two different meets. The boys headed over to Mamaroneck and the girls to Croton, both sides performed well and got some performances to be proud of. Full Story
PV Track Team Competes at Tiger Relays, Loses to Ossining
The Putnam Valley High School boys and girls track teams participated in Kingston High School’s Tiger Relays on Saturday, with the boys finishing in 20th place and the girls coming in 11th.
That was preceded by losses by both teams to Ossining last Wednesday. The girls lost 104-26 and the boys were narrowly defeated 76-73. Full Story
PV Girls Trip up Peekskill in First League Game of Season
PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley high softball team welcomed Peekskill to their diamond for its first league game of the season. The Tigers walked away with a 8-0, one-hit, shutout win. Full Story
’Pac Softball Team Defeats Panas
The Mahopac High School softball team improved its record to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in League 1-B by defeating Walter Panas, 2-1, at home last Friday.
Junior Kailleen Creamer got the win on the mound for the Indians, pitching seven innings while giving up one run and striking out 14 batters. Full Story

Put Valley Defeats Peekskill, Loses Two
The Putnam Valley High School baseball team defeated Peekskill on Friday at home, 7-1, in its first League 1-D game of the season, after losing on the road to Brewster, 11-2, last Wednesday and to host Beacon, 7-3, last Monday.
The Tigers are 3-5 overall with a 1-0 record in League1-D. Full Story
Lady Gael s Defeat Yonkers , Blind Brook, Lose to Hen Hud
The Kennedy High School girls lacrosse team picked up its first two wins of the season, defeating Yonkers at home, 14-9, last Friday and Blind Brook, 16-3, on the road the day before.
Those victories were preceded by a 15-8 loss to host Hendrick Hudson last Monday in a League 3 game.
Kennedy’s record now stands at 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the league. Full Story
Mahopac Girls Lacrosse Team Loses Two
The Mahopac High girls lacrosse team lost both its games last week, losing 17-4 to Lakeland/Panas last Wednesday at home, after bowing to Yorktown at home, 18-10, last Monday.
The Indians’ record now stands at 3-4 overall and 1-3 in League 1-B. Both games were league contests for Mahopac. Full Story
’Pac Falls to Yorktown, Beats Northport
MAHOPAC—After a week off the Mahopac High lacrosse team split their two games last week. After losing 14-7 to league opponent Yorktown on Thursday, the Indians rebounded with a 13-10 road win over Long Island's Northport High on Saturday.
The Indians (5-3) finally took control of a back and forth game with Northport with a 6-2 fourth quarter rally for the come from behind win. Full Story
Mahopac Sports Association News
We held our Opening Day Baseball and Softball event on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Hundreds of boys and girls attended the event ranging in age from 5-18 years old.
The day kicked off with T-Ball games at 9am. The opening day event consisted of announcing of the teams, coaches and sponsors in each division. Hitting and throwing skill competitions followed. Full Story
