Rams bang out 21 runs, 30 hits in two games
CARMEL—The Carmel High baseball team continued its hot play last week, hammering out a 7-2 League 1-B win over Brewster last Friday night at Dutchess Stadium, after handing Yorktown an 8-3 loss in the first game of a double-header. One night earlier at Carmel, the Rams set the tone by handing Brewster a 14-4 thumping in another league game. Full Story
Brewster Bears Win Track and Field League Championships
BREWSTER—For the second year in a row, the Brewster High boys and girls spring track teams are League 1-B Champions. Competing over Tuesday and Thursday of last week the boys won with a score of 211 points, 59 points higher than second-place Lakeland/Panas. The girls finished with 176 points, which put them 42 points ahead of second place Mahopac. Full Story

Kennedy blows out Beacon, Tappan Zee in tournament
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy Catholic High baseball team remained sizzling hot last week, as the Gaels rolled over North Salem, 7-1, last Wednesday, then blitzed past Tappan Zee, 11-1, and Beacon, 17-4, to win the DawgFest Tournament title Friday and Saturday at Beacon.
The three wins left Kennedy at 9-1 overall, and 3-0 in League 1-D play. Full Story
Gaels Do Well at Somers Invitational
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy Catholic High School track and field team stayed local this weekend and competed in the Somers Lions Club Invitational. The girls finished 19th overall, and the boys tied for 23rd overall, over 30 teams competed on both sides. Full Story
Bears’ Balanced Scoring Attack Too Much for Wappingers, 14-7
But Brewster also falls to the Mahopac Indians, 12-4
BREWSTER—The Brewster High boys lacrosse team had eight players reach the scoring column in a 14-7 win over Wappingers at home last Thursday. Brewster also dropped a 12-4 decision to Mahopac two days earlier on the road. Full Story
Putnam Valley Girls Take Down Kennedy, Hen Hud
PUTNAM VALLEY—It was a good week for the Putnam Valley high girls lacrosse squad. Friday the Tigers went to Kennedy and came back with a 16-7 victory, and on Wednesday the Tigers got a win in front of the home crowd over Haldane, 19-7. Full Story
Pitching and Timely Hitting Propels Mahopac in Wins
MAHOPAC—Thanks to some strong pitching and clutch hitting, the Mahopac High baseball team was able to win a pair of road games against League 1-B opponents Yorktown and Panas. The Indians (7-4, 3-0) got a two-out RBI double from senior Christian Carmody in the ninth inning to beat Yorktown 4-2 on Thursday, and followed that with Friday’s 5-3 win against Panas. Full Story
Kennedy Girls Beat Keio, Lose to Ossining and PV
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy High School girls lacrosse team defeated Keio 17-7 on the road last Thursday. That victory was sandwiched between a 14-5 loss at Ossining last Wednesday and a 16-7 defeat at the hands of Putnam Valley on the Gaels’ home field last Friday.
Kennedy’s record now stands at 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the league. Full Story
Tigers Get on a Roll
PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley High boys lacrosse team picked up three wins last week, rolling past Byram Hills, 10-4, Saturday, after beating Ossining, 14-6, last Thursday at home. Putnam Valley also routed Croton-Harmon, 13-1, in a game played the prior Tuesday at Croton.
Against Byram Hills, PV (6-3) led 4-0 after one and 6-0 at halftime. Full Story
Mahopac Laxmen Top Brewster, White Plains
MAHOPAC—After losing their first two games to open the season, the Mahopac High boys lacrosse team has responded by winning seven of eight, including last week’s victories over Brewster and White Plains.
The Indians (7-3, 1-1) followed Tuesday’s 12-4 win over league opponent Brewster with a come from behind 13-10 win on the road against White Plains on Thursday. Full Story
Bears Play Well, But Fall to Lakeland/Panas
BREWSTER—Cassandra Honovich had six goals and one assist, and Anna Jeszeck added a hat-trick, as the Lakeland/ Panas girls lacrosse team topped Brewster, 17-10, in a game played Monday at Brewster.
The Bears also rolled over Arlington, 14-6, last Friday at Brewster High.

CARMEL—With their seasons reaching the midway points the Carmel High and Brewster High softball teams, closed out their week against each other. On Thursday the Bears (3-2, 1-0) visited Carmel, and survived an early deficit to beat the Rams (2-5,1-2) 7-2 for their first league win of the year. Full Story
