BREWSTER—The Brewster High baseball team has honored the memory of former player Chris Caiazzo each spring since his untimely death in an auto accident in January of 2007, creating the Chris Caiazzo Memorial Tournament.

Kennedy Gaels Bucked By Broncos In Opening Round
SOMERS—The Kennedy Catholic boys lacrosse team needed every last game to qualify for the playoffs. The Gaels (5-12, 4-7) split their last two regular season games before losing in the opening round of the sectional playoffs. After losing 11-1 to Pearl River on Monday the Gaels need Dan McLaughlin's overtime goal to beat Haldane, 5-4, on Wednesday to make the playoffs. Full Story

Kennedy Boys Sixth at Class B Meet, Girls Tenth
TRACK
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy Catholic track and field team brought 10 boys and 13 girls to the Class B sectional meet in Byram Hills on Saturday. The boys finished sixth out of 20 teams and the girls were 10th out of 22 teams. The Gaels came home with seven medals in all, and both sides performed very well. Full Story

MAHOPAC—It's been a problem all year for the Mahopac High boys lacrosse team, and now their slow starts has cost them a win, and a home game in the upcoming sectional playoffs. The Indians (10-6, 3-2) came out flat against Suffern on Tuesday, before losing, 11-10, in overtime. Full Story

BREWSTER—With a share of the league championship up for grabs, the Brewster High and Carmel High softball teams needed an extra-inning to determine who would share the title with Yorktown. Thanks to Christina Graff's two out single in the eighth inning the Bears (12-8, 8-2) beat the Rams (8-6, 7-3) 5-4. Full Story
PV Baseball Team Loses to Mahopac, Beats Peekskill
The Putnam Valley High baseball team split the two games it played last week and looks to be getting stronger with the playoffs right around the corner.
The Tigers dropped a close non-league game 4-3 to host Mahopac on Friday after defeating Peekskill on the road 10-3 in a League 1-D game the day before. Full Story
Putnam Valley Tigers Sweep Peekskill But Lose to Pelham
PUTNAM VALLEY—On Monday Put Valley beat Peekskill for the second time in three days, the first win came Saturday at the Chris Tantalos Memorial tournament in Mahopac. The Tigers won 17-0 on Saturday over Peekskill but lost to Pelham 8-0. Needless to say it has been an up and down past few games for the Tigers. Full Story
PV Girls Fight Their Way into Playoffs, Lose in First Round
PUTNAM VALLEY—Losing in overtime is a tough way to end a season, especially when you had to battle just to be given the opportunity to play another day. That’s exactly what happened to the Putnam Valley high girls lacrosse team this past week. Before losing to Pelham 17-16 in the first round of the playoffs on Thursday the Tigers beat Somers in an out-bracket game, 10-9. Full Story
Brewster Girls Spanked by Foxes in First Round, 17-4
BREWSTER—The Brewster High girls lacrosse team faced a tough Fox Lane team in the first round of the Class A tournament Saturday, and ended up on the short side of a 17-4 verdict in a game played in Bedford.
The No. 2 Foxes (15-3), led 6-0 less than 10 minutes into the game, and by halftime had built an 11-4 cushion, after scoring twice in the last 41 seconds of the half. Full Story
Kennedy Girls Lose to Briarcliff in First Round
The Kennedy High School girls lacrosse team’s season came to an tough ending last Wednesday, as the Gaels fell to Briarcliff, 17-7, in the first round of the Section 1 playoffs.
The loss was preceded by a Kennedy victory in the team’s regular season finale, a 10-7 win over Yonkers. Full Story
Kennedy Drops a Game to Dover
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy Catholic high softball team traveled to Dover for a league game on Thursday, but the Gaels lost 5-4. They were originally told by the head umpire that they arrived too late to even warm-up, they eventually got in their warm-up but it may have affected them to start the game. Full Story
