MAHOPAC—After upsetting White Plains in the opening round of the Class A playoffs, the Mahopac High boys lacrosse team came up short in its bid for back to back upsets with Thursday's loss to Lakeland-Panas. The Indians (11-7, 3-2) went on the road to upset the fourth seed Tigers (11-6) 17-7, before losing 14-8 to top seeded Lakeland-Panas (15-3). Full Story

BREWSTER—While the rest of the Brewster High track team saw its season come to an end at Friday and Saturday's state qualifiers, freshman Ariana Bottalico earned a trip to the state finals, after winning the 3,000 meter run. Full Story

Carmel six-run eighth sinks JJ in first round
CARMEL—After a season that saw the Carmel High baseball get very hot, then very cold, the Rams were hoping to hang on to some of that heat in the Class AA playoff tournament last week.
And they did.
The No. 13 Rams went into John Jay last Friday and stunned the fourthseeded Indians, 9-3, in eight innings. Full Story

SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy Catholic High School baseball team made short work of its first two playoff opponents last week, drilling No. 14 seed Albertus Magnus, 12-2, in Friday’s opening round, then doing the same to No. 6 Westlake in an 11-0 rout in Saturday’s quarterfinals. Full Story

PV Storms Past Sleepy, P’Ville and into Class C Final Again
Tigers lacrosse team set to defend title
PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley High boys lacrosse team has made a habit out of advancing to the Class C finals, and the Tigers did it again last week, eliminating No. 12 Sleepy Hollow, 11-6, in Tuesday’s quarters, and then punching their ticket to the title bout with a 9-5 semifinal triumph over top-seeded Pleasantville Thursday on the road. Kennedy Track Team Sends Four to State Championships
SOMERS—The John F. Kennedy Catholic high track and field team traveled to the state qualifier meet, held Friday night in Arlington and Saturday morning at White Plains. Only eight kids went with the team, four girls and four boys. Half of them earned the right to advance to the state championship. The Gaels tallied up nine top-two finishes overall during a great weekend for the program. Full Story

Mahopac Softball Team Loses in Quarterfinals
The Mahopac High softball team faced some tough pitching from the Roy C. Ketcham high team in losing 2-0 in the second round of the sectional playoffs on Friday after the Indians defeated John Jay-Cross River at home in the first round last Thursday. Full Story
PV Softball Team Out After First Round
PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley high softball team took its 7-14 record over to Rye Neck for a first round Class B playoff match up. The Tigers were a 15 seed going up against the second seed of the tournament, so they were not expected to fair too well in this game. They battled all game long, but lost a 2-0 decision. Full Story

CARMEL—With the injuries piling up, the Carmel High softball team knew they could only go as far as Monica Schult could carry the them. Unfortunately by the time her fourth start of the week came around, she and the Rams (10-7, 7-3) came up short in the opening round of the sectional playoffs. Full Story
PV Falls to Hastings in First Round of Playoffs
The Putnam Valley High School baseball team’s season came to a heartbreaking end with Friday’s 4-3 loss to host Hastings, which came back in its final at-bat to pull out the victory.
That loss came after another defeat to North Salem 5-4 in the regular season finale last Monday. Full Story
Mamaroneck Rallies to Beat Mahopac in Quarterfinals
MAHOPAC—Things were looking good for the Mahopac High baseball team, after beating Arlington 11-1 in the opening round of the playoffs on Friday, the sixth seeded Indians (15-7, 8-2) were up 5-1 on Saturday against the number three seed Mamaroneck, just seven outs away from advancing. Full Story
