Eric Schmidt has never regretted his decision made more than two decades ago to enlist in the Air Force.
Schmidt, 39, a 1988 graduate of Carmel High School, recalled last week while visiting his mom, Marianne Lindquist, and his grandfather, 101 year-old Eugene Schmidt of Patterson, at the family home in rural Kent that as a youngster he was unsure what to do with his life. Full Story

Everyone was a “little bit Polish” on Sunday in Mahopac when the Polish- American Club of Mahopac celebrated its annual Putnam Polish Picnic.
Hundreds of men, women, and children flocked to the Sycamore Park for the event that featured song, dance, camaraderie, and old fashioned Polish delicacies. Full Story
