July 4th Concert at Red Mills Historic Park
Come one, come all! The Town of Carmel invites the entire community to a 4th of July concert at Red Mills Historic Park, from 7:30 to 9:30pm at the Red Mills Historic Park in Mahopac. Robinson Helps the Paramount Celebrate its 80th
Legendary composer and singer Smokey Robinson put on a show to remember at the Paramount Center for the Performing Arts in Peekskill.
Saturday evening’s performance helped the theater celebrate its 80th anniversary through the Red Carpet Night event that attracted scores of Putnam residents.

New Rabbi Rides into Mahopac on Two Wheels
On June 27 Rabbi Eytan Hammerman bicycled from White Plains to Mahopac, where he will serve as the new rabbi to Temple Beth Shalom. The bike ride was followed by a meet and greet reception at the synagogue with a tree planting in front of the temple and a welcoming ceremony. Full Story

Kent Man Kills Self After Standoff
Dozens of police officers from Putnam and Westchester spent Friday trying to negotiate with a 25-year-old Kent man who barricaded himself inside his residence with a loaded weapon.
Kent Police received the initial call at 9am from a woman who reported her son had been distraught and recently purchased a shotgun. Full Story
