Snoozing Lake Sailor Creates Havoc
A calm evening on the West Branch Reservoir in Carmel quickly turned chaotic. Around 6:30pm last week several motorists crossing the Route 301 causeway reported seeing a rowboat containing fishing gear in the middle of the reservoir with no occupant of the boat in sight. Full Story

Putnam Students Are Honored by BOCES
Forty students from Putnam County are among the 93 young men and women enrolled at Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.
The inductees were lauded last week at BOCES’s 14th annual ceremony, which BOCES Superintendent Dr. James Langlois said was the “highest award for excellence in technical education.” Full Story
363 Graduate from Carmel High School
The backdrop of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury greeted more than 3,500 Putnam residents when the Carmel High School Class of 2010 received diplomas. Three hundred sixty-three young men and women received their degrees at last Thursday’s ceremony. Full Story
North Salem High School Graduates 106 Young Men and Women
The area’s most picturesque commencement took place at the Caramoor Center for the Performing Arts in Katonah when North Salem High School celebrated its 48th annual graduation ceremony.
