Dorothy J. Mattiace of Sherman, Conn., died suddenly on Thur. July 1, 2010, at her home. She was 50.

Mrs. Mattiace was born Nov. 12, 1959, in Yonkers, NY, daughter of Robert and Marion (Esposito) Chamberlain of New Fairfield, Conn. She graduated from Brewster High School in 1977. On March 6, 1982, she married Carl Mattiace in Sacred Heart Church in Patterson. Mrs. Mattiace lived in Dover Plains before moving to Sherman eleven years ago. She was a Medical Assistant for fifteen years with Taconic D.D.S.O. in Amenia, NY.

Besides her parents she is survived by her husband, Carl Mattiace of Sherman; two children—Crystal Mattiace of Stormville and John Mattiace of Sherman; two brothers—Robert Chamberlain of Patterson and Brian Chamberlain of LaGrange; a sister— Kelli Raines of New Fairfield; her two grandchildren—Austin Mattiace age eight and David Howell age two; and her mother-in-law, Jean Mattiace of Putnam Lake. She was predeceased by her son, Carl A. Mattiace Jr. in April of 2003. She was a good mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 7 at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake, and interment was private.
