If a northern Westchester man wanted to make an impression on his girlfriend’s grandmother he went about it in the wrong way!
Kent Police arrested Roland Yosufuf, 19, of Bedford Hills last week on felony charges of forgery and grand larceny in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred in June when the young couple was spending time at the woman’s home.
Detective Kevin Owens and Officer Darren Cea alleged that Yosufuf stole five checks from the residence and cashed three of them at area businesses, ringing up more than $1,000 in sales.
The Bedford Hills man was also accused of stealing a GPS unit from the residence in Kent.
Yosufuf was arraigned by Kent Justice Peter Collins and was remanded to the Putnam Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail pending future court action.
District Attorney Adam Levy said the charges were Class D felonies carrying maximum state prison terms of up to seven years if found guilty.
