‘Constitution Island’ Daylilies on Sale at Garden Day

The Constitution Island Associat ion will offer 100 “Constitution Island” daylilies for sale to comm rate the 40th anniversary of their creation. The plants will be available for sale at the Association’s “Garden Day” festivities at Constitution Island on July 31. All proceeds will go to benefit the gardens at Constitution Island. The “Constitution Island” daylily will be available for five dollars a plant. Also available for sale will be herbs and other garden plants.

The day celebrates Anna Warner’s and Constitution Island’s place in garden history. Anna Warner wrote some of the first popular garden books in America. She wrote Gardening by Myself in 1872. Gar dening by Myself

Garden Day is an annual celebrat ion of the award-winning Anna Warner Memorial Gardens and Constitution Island’s special place in horticultural history. Come enjoy the Island’s gardens and listen to experts from the local area speak about gardening topics relating to the Hudson Highlands. Event hours are 10am until 4pm. Food Cart with fresh grilled items is supplied by Chalet on the Hudson. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.
