SURVEYING THE COUNTY
What is the Most Important Issue Facing Putnam?
I n a survey conducted recently by pollster Kieran Mahoney for the Courier and its sister newspaper, the Putnam County
News & Recorder,
Putnam resid ents were asked what is the most important issue facing the county.
Except for the towns of Patterson and Putnam Valley, where the most popular response to this question was “don’t know,” the likely voters surveyed sited excessive taxation as the most pressing concern.
In general, government spendi ng and taxation was a major sticking point for those surveyed.
