Myra L. Werner known to some as “Mrs. Walker,” of Patterson died at home on Sunday July 25, 2010 at the age of 85.

Mrs. Werner was born March 13, 1925 in Brooklyn, daughter of the late James and Mary (Cameron) Thompson. During WWII she was an Air Raid Warden in Manhattan, and shortly after the war she married George Werner on March 3, 1946 in New York City.

Mrs. Werner was predeceased by her husband George in 1984 and moved from Ossining to Patterson thirteen years ago.

Mrs. Werner is survived by her three children; George Werner, Madeline Fredericks and Barbara Sargeson all of Patterson, a brother James Thompson of Amsterdam, NY, seven grandchildren; James Fredericks, Joseph Fredericks, George Werner, Kim (Werner) Smith, Douglas Werner, Michelle (Sullivan) Marotz, Bill Sullivan and five great grandchildren; Sean Fredericks, Kyle Fredericks, Erin Fredericks, Rebecca Werner, and Jeffrey Marotz.

A funeral service was held on Wed. July 28, at Beecher Funeral Home, in- Brewster. Internment followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hasting on Hudson. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
