The sounds of music provided by bands and fire and drum corps echoed throughout downtown Brewster when the Brewster Fire Department hosted its annual inspection parade.

Lake Carmel Man Sentenced to Prison for Robbery
A Lake Carmel man will be calling the New York State Department of Corrections home for the next three years following sentencing in Dutchess County Court.
Judge Gerald Hayes imposed the period of incarceration on Timothy Shinkaroff, 22, of Lake Carmel Monday after the young man copped a guilty plea to robbery. Full Story
Silver Starlites Take First at AYOP Nationals
The Silver Starlites, a local baton twirling team in Pawling, won 1st place at the AYOP Nationals in South Bend, Indiana, at the University of Notre Dame, which took place at the end of July. The Tiny Tot team came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
The teams are Halftime and #11 Beginner. Leah and Gabrielle Santalis, also won in individual events. Full Story
