Kent 10U Squad Suffers First Losses of Season
KENT—The 10 and under Kent White Sox squad lost their only two games this past week, one game they were mercy ruled in five innings but the other was a much closer two run loss. On Saturday Kent lost to Putnam Valley, 15-5 and on Thursday they fell to Patterson, 10-8, in a game that seemed out of reach up until the final two innings. Full Story
White Sox Keep Working Toward Improvement
KENT—On Saturday the Kent White Sox 13 and under baseball team faced Cortland at Ryan’s Field and lost 7-3. The team has had a rough summer after posting a solid 10-2 record in the spring, the roster is pretty much the same but some injuries and a few missing players has taken a toll on the Sox. Full Story
White Sox 16U Softball Clinches Division Title
The Kent White Sox 16 and Under softball team capped off a strong season by winning the WPBA’s 16 and Under North Division last week. A 5-0 win over North Salem in the second game of a double header last Thursday clinched the title. North Salem defeated Kent 1-0 in the first game. The White Sox also swept Cortlandt in a double header last Monday. Full Story
Patterson 12U Black Team Tops Kent, Carmel
The Patterson Pirates 12 and Under Black baseball team picked up two wins on Sunday, beating Bedford Hills 7-4 after playing one inning against the same team in order to finish a game started earlier in the season. Brett George drove in the winning run for Patterson to get the 5-4 win.
The Pirates also defeated Kent 13-6 on Saturday and Carmel 7-6 last Wednesday. Full Story
Kent 11U Squad Wins Three to Reach Playoffs
KENT—The Kent White Sox 11U team knew last week that it had a stretch of big games coming up. Kent needed to win the next three in order to keep playoff hopes alive, and did just that. Monday they beat Somers, 11-1 then Thursday they beat Patterson, 5-3 and Tuesday they beat Bedford Hills, 7-3. Full Story
Pirates Gold Loses to New Fairfield, Defeat Pirates Black
The Patterson Pirates 11 and Under Gold baseball team split its two games last week, losing to New Fairfield 2-1 Sunday night on the road after defeating the Patterson 11 and Under Black team 3-2 last Monday at Peckham Park. Full Story
Patterson Pirates 10U Squad Falls to Peekskill
The Patterson Pirates 10 and Under baseball team suffered a tough 6-5 loss to Peekskill on the road last Tuesday.
The loss dropped Patterson’s record to 5-3.
Andrew Rossi started for the Pirates and Ryan Livingston pitched the final two innings. Full Story
Brewster Rockets Softball Team Places Third at Nationals
The young Brewster Rockets softball team made its way almost eight hours west to Akron Ohio for the 2010 Pony Girls Softball Nationals recently. This annual event is where winners of tournaments throughout the season get together to battle it out. This week-long tournament consisted of some of the best teams in the East. Full Story
Carmel Cubs 14s Cont inue Dominance, Improve to 17-0
CARMEL—With their season winding down, the Carmel Cubs 14U baseball team just keeps picking up wins. The Cubs (17-0) opened their week with Tuesday’s 10-0 win against LaGrange, and followed that with a Thursday’s 13-6 win against Armonk, before wrapping their week up with a 26-2 win against Bedford on Saturday. Three Losses Put U10 Cubs’ Playoff Chances In Jeopardy
CARMEL—Before this week, the Carmel Cubs U10 baseball team was in control of its own destiny, but after three tough losses, the Cubs are going to need a little help to get into the playoffs. The Cubs (8-8) started the week with a 4-3 loss at Yonkers on Tuesday, before Thursday’s 5-4 loss to North Salem, and Saturday’s 8-5 loss to Ossining. Full Story
Pirates 11U Still Alive in Williamsport Tournament
The Patterson Pirates 11 and Under Williamsport baseball team lost 6-0 to Pearl River in the semi-final round of the tournament’s sectional portion, but still have an opportunity to move on in the loser’s bracket. All of the games that the team played last week took place in Wallkill. Full Story
