Peter J. Quirk, 69, an 18-year resident of Wingdale, NY, formerly of North Salem, died Thursday, August 19 at home. Mr. Quirk was a bus driver for many years with First Transit in Patterson, retiring in 2008. Born January 8, 1941 in Mt. Kisco, he was the son of the late Peter T. and Margaret Totten Quirk.

Mr. Quirk was a life member and past chief of the Croton Falls Fire Department in Croton Falls. He was also a member of the Amenia Fish & Game in Amenia, NY and a parishioner of Our Lady of Solace Chapel in Wingdale.

Mr. Quirk is survived by his former wife, Marguerite Quirk of New Milford; two sons, Peter A. Quirk and his wife, Dana, of Wingdale, and Gerard D. Quirk and his wife, Martha, of Wingdale; two daughters, Laura M. Wyckoff of Wingdale and Valerie Kurtz and her husband, James, of Wingdale; ten grandchildren, Gerard P. Quirk, Andrew Wyckoff, Anthony Quirk, Amanda Kurtz, Brittany Wyckoff, Allison Kurtz, Peter Quirk, Michaela Wyckoff, Michael Quirk, and Jason Wagner; and one greatgrandson.

Calling hours and funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 24, at Hufcut Funeral Home in Dover Plains. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
