Putnam Hospital Center Reservoir Classic Road Race Applications Now Available
Applications are now available for the 23rd Annual Putnam Hospital Center Reservoir Classic Road Race. Sponsored by the Carmel-Kent Lions Club. It will be held Sunday, September 26. Sanctioned by the Westchester Road Runners, it will start and finish at Putnam Hospital Center on Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel; the race route will run along the scenic Croton Falls Reservoir. New Rules for Hunting, Trapping Licenses
Hunters and trappers should be aware of several new regulations in effect for 2010-11. Air guns may now be used for hunting small game. Pheasant hunting areas and seasons have been modified. The Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) containment area has been decommissioned, and hunters in that area are no longer required to have their deer checked for CWD. Full Story

Union Valley Cemetery and Chapel Celebrate 150th year
The 150th anniversary of the Union Valley Cemetery Association will be observed at a public service on Sunday, September 12, at 3pm. An open house will be held from 2 to 5pm.
