Brewster Boys Soccer Team Looks to Improve
BREWSTER—The Brewster High boys soccer team had a decent season last year, but second-year coach Scott Potusek is looking for more this fall.
Last year’s Bears beat Peekskill in the playoffs before losing to Lakeland, 1-0, to end their season.

Gaels Set Sights On Volleyball League Title
SOMERS—Last year was a bit of a rebuilding season for the Kennedy Catholic volleyball team, but with seven seniors returning, the Gaels are expecting to do better than last year’s 5-10 record.
“I think we’ll be a strong contender,” coach Ellen Casey said. “On any given night we’ll have as good a shot as anyone else.” Full Story
’Pac Cross Country Teams Look for Strong Fall Season
MAHOPAC—The Mahopac High School boys cross country team is hoping to return to the top of Section 1 this season after falling off last season.
The team finished in fourth at the county meet and at the league meet last season, and was not among the top 10 teams in Section 1, which is unusual for the Indians. Full Story

CARMEL—Last year was a tough one for the Carmel High field hockey team, as the Rams finished the season with a 4-9-4 record, losing to John Jay of East Fishkill in the first round of sectionals, 1-0.
Major losses to graduation include All-Elite defender Sarah McCormack, All-League midfielder Christina Caso and goaltender Sam Scapoli. Full Story

SOMERS—With just two girls returning from last year’s team, the Kennedy Catholic girls tennis team is entering the season looking to rebuild their program. MAHOPAC—Normally a team that loses many key players due to graduation would consider the following season to be a rebuilding one. That's not the case for the Mahopac High School field hockey team, which finished the 2009 season with a 8-6-2 record and advanced to the second round of the Section 1 playoffs before losing to Suffern. MSA Youth Fooball Kickoff the Regular Season
This past Sunday the MSA Youth Football teams of grades 4 through 8 kicked off their season in a big way. The 4th grade team won their game against the Southern Dutchess Silver team. Both teams played tough and the game stayed close until the last few minutes when Mahopac was able to come out victorious. Full Story
