Nine Members of the ‘Class of 2010-11’ Arrive in Brewster

ERIC GROSS Stomach butterflies might have been common for scores of students on the first day of school Tuesday, but many new teachers also experienced those anxious pangs when greeting their pupils for the first time.

Nine members of the Brewster School District’s “Class of 2010-11” were hired this summer to replace retirees. Eight of the teachers have been assigned to Brewster High School, while Jennifer Dewing has become a Spanish teacher at the Henry Wells Middle School.

The new high school staff includes Dan Perito, a special education teacher; Brendan Breen, the BHS Library Media Specialist; John Clark, a special education teacher; Kevin Cunningham, who is teaching AP Biology and Forensics; Antonio Franze, a teacher of Italian and Spanish; Alicia Cavallo, who is teaching Engligh; Tara Dennehy-Osso, a special education teacher; and Willa Xuan Wang who is teaching Chinese and Chinese culture.
