MARGARET IRENE FOLCHETTI

Margaret Irene Folchetti, age 97, a lifelong resident of Brewster died Monday, September 6 in Brewster. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Folchetti was born in Brewster on April 24, 1913 to John and Mary (Comesky) Larkin. She was graduated from Brewster High School in 1930. She then was graduated from Catherine Gibbs Business School in Manhattan. Mrs. Folchetti was an excellent swimmer in her youth. In July 1930, she won the 6 mile race of Lake Tonetta

Mrs. Folchetti married Innocenzo Folchetti on July 16, 1933 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Mr. Folchetti died on June 4, 1994.

Mrs. Folchetti worked as a Dietician for the Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel for 20 years until her retirement in1988. Mrs. Folchetti was also a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster.

Mrs. Folchetti is survived by her children, J. Robert Folchetti of Brewster and a daughter Linda Edwards of Trumbull, CT. Also nine Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Folchetti was pre-deceased by a son, William Brian Folchetti on December 2, 1979. Her death marks the end of an era. She was the last surviving member of the nine Larkin children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 11, 2010 10am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster. Interment following at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster. Friends may call at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Friday from 4-8pm.
