Anita M. DeHart of Mahopac, and formerly of Cheektowaga, NY, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday September 19, 2010. She was 89. She was born in North Bay, Ontario, Canada on March 26, 1921, the daughter of Edward and Olive Therien Labreche.

She shared much love and laughter with her husband of 50 years, Ellis “Al” DeHart, who passed away on October 31, 1996. She is survived by her loving daughter Alana Sweeny and her son-inlaw, Judge John Sweeny, and her grandsons James, Brian and Patrick, whom she adored.

So she can continue to help others learn, Anita donated her body to the University at Buffalo Medical School. A celebration of her life was held on Thursday September 23, 2010 at the home of her daughter.

Donations in her memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, in Buffalo, NY, the American Red Cross or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac.
