David Patrick Hagan Sr. of Brewster, died suddenly on Wednesday October 13, 2010, at the age of 74.

Mr. Hagan was born January 27, 1936 in Bronx, NY, to James and Mary (Moore) Hagan. He graduated from St. John’s School in the Bronx and Rice High School in Manhattan then served with the Army from 1955 to 1957. On October 17, 1964, he married Irene Lord at St. John’s Church in Kingsbridge. They moved to Brewster 34 years ago and became members of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Mr. Hagan worked as a stone derrickman and rigger for Iron Workers Local 197 in Long Island City for 33 years before retiring in 1991. He was a talented violinist who enjoyed entertaining his family and friends.

Besides his wife Irene, Mr. Hagan is survived by his daughters Jeanmarie Hagan of Brewster, and Kelli (Joseph) DelGiorno of New Fairfield, CT, and two sons, David P. Hagan Jr. of Brewster, and John (Megan) Hagan of Danbury, CT. He is survived by four brothers, James of New Hyde Park, NY, Hugh and Eugene both of Monroe, NY, Stephen of Sparta, NJ, a sister Josephine Hagan of Bronx, NY, and cousin Elaine Kennedy of Somers. Mr. Hagan is also survived by his three grandchildren Alyssa and Brianna DelGiorno and Max Hagan who brought much joy and love to his life. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, October 18, 2010, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Interment followed in St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery.
