Joan A. Fincham, a resident of Fishkill and formerly of Cold Spring, entered into rest Monday, October 25, 2010 at home with her children at her side. She had just celebrated her 76th birthday.

Born October 8, 1934, in Beacon, she was the daughter of William and Helen Corrigan. Joan attended Beacon, Garrison, and Cold Spring schools. She met her husband Haywood W. Fincham Sr. at West Point while he was in the service. They married July 17, 1952, at the First Presbyterian Church in Louisa, VA.

Joan is survived by her 11 children: daughters, Karen & James Tangen, Betty & Harold Kane, Donna & Darrell Duheme, Kathy & Richard Keller, Joanna Fincham & Jenny Smith; sons, Haywood Fincham Jr. & Roe DeNardo, Randy & Cindy Fincham, Charles Fincham & Shirley Botsford, Robert & Ellen Fincham, David & Patricia Fincham, and her youngest son and caregiver, Paul M. Fincham & Glenn Ebneter. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Joseph & Alex Fincham, Stephanie & Sean Lucy, Danyell & James Holleran, Scott Tangen, Brian Kane, Ryan Fincham, Casey Kane, Kaitlyn Fincham, Kristen Fincham; her pride and joy, her great-granddaughter Victoria Holleran; her five step-grandchildren, Debbie Mostert, Michael Duheme, Cathy, Jessica & Michael Edwards; her step, great-grandchild, Shane Duheme; five siblings, Fay Bradley, Gail & Ronny Owens, Shirley & Ralph Verdile, Pam & Al Villani, and Robert Corrigan; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, William Corrigan; sister, Nancy Corrigan; and aunt, Mildred Sutton.

Joan worked at Dutchess Manor and Holiday Inn where she met many people. She also worked for PARC for 18 years, where she was known as Mama Joan or Joanie. The residents of Nelsonville were a large part of her life. She was heartbroken when she retired due to her health.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 6, at the First Presbyterian Church, 50 Liberty Street, Beacon, with Rev. Benjamin Larson and Rev. Leslie Mott officiating.
