GRANVILLE T. ERICKSON

Granville T. Erickson, of Patterson, died Sunday November 7, 2010, in Carmel, at the age of 89.

Mr. Erickson was born Jan. 15, 1921 in the Bronx, son of the late Ralph and Helene (Gibb) Erickson. On Aug. 29, 1942, he married Louise Collins in St. Helena’s Church in the Bronx,.They had been part-time residents in Putnam Lake for sixteen years before moving there permanently in 1969.

Mr. Erickson was the sexton at Sacred Heart Church for 14 years. before retiring in 1985. He was Treasurer of the Holy Name Society for 10 years, was an usher and Eucharistic minister. His wife Louise predeceased him after fifty and a half years of marriage on Jan. 12, 1993.

He is survived by seven children; Granville E. Erickson of Brooklyn; Michael E. Erickson of New Milford, CT,; Nancy E. Doyle of White Lake, NC; Warren E. Erickson of Patterson; Marian E. Erickson of Rio Rancho, NM; Donald J. Erickson of Holmes; Alice H. Druckreier of New Milford, CT; seventeen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by his daughter Virginia L. Moloney; son-in-law John A. Doyle; grandson James Maloney; and granddaughters Courtney Baker and Kaitlyn Druckreier.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wed. Nov. 10, at Sacred Heart Church, Putnam Lake, with interment following in Maple Ave. Cemetery, Patterson. Friends called at the Beecher Funeral Home on Tuesday. Contributions in Mr. Erickson’s memory may be made to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
