A Tree Falls in Putnam . . . so that it can rise at Rockefeller Center
Mahopac Falls had never seen anything like it. On Veterans Day morning crowds estimated at more than 400 crowded along Bullet Hole Road and stood behind barricades in front of a small home to watch as tree surgeons cut down a 74-foot tall, 12-ton Norway spruce that will be the centerpiece of this year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas celebration, thanks to the Acton family.
