SUZANNE RENEE FISH, née MIZELL

4/09/69 – 11/29/10

On Monday, November 29, Suzanne Renee Fish, of Bristow Virginia, passed away. Suzanne is survived by her loving husband Christopher, son Alexander and daughter Madeleine, parents LTC (Ret) and Mrs. Louis L. Mizell of Olympia, Washington, brother Michael, sister in-law Keri, and nephew Colton of Rochester Washington, mother and fathers in-law Ronald and Barbara Fish of Carmel, sister in-law Jennifer Fish and niece Samantha Fish of Carmel, and brother in-law Jonathon Fish of Carmel.

Suzanne was born at Ft. Riley, Kansas. She grew up in a military family and graduated from W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax Virginia. She spent time in Berlin, Germany, during summer and college vacations. Suzanne graduated in 1992 with a B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University and in 1995 earned a M.A. Psychology degree from Marymount University. Suzanne held numerous professional positions in corporate government affairs, healthcare and mental health organizations. With the birth of her two children Suzanne’s mission in life grew into becoming a leading advocate for children and community issues in Bristow, Virginia. She was an active leader with the local MOM’s Club International and served in numerous positions with the Cedar Point Elementary School Parent Teacher Association including; Chairperson PTA Student Enrichment Programs, 1st Grade Parent Representative, Cedar Point Elementary Guidance Advisory Council, and Parent Representative, Cedar Point Elementary Guidance Advisory Council.

At all times throughout her life Suzanne was always a shining symbol of optimism and joy who cared deeply about those around her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and will always be remembered for sharing her vibrancy for life with all of those so fortunate to have known her.

The family received friends on Saturday, December 4, from 5-8pm at the Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA, 20110. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 6, at 10am at the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8712 Plantation Lane, Manassas, VA, 20110, with Reverend Jeffrey Wilson officiating.

Interment followed in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Suzanne to the Cedar Point Elementary School “Suzanne Fish Memorial Fund” c/o PTA, 12601 Braemar Parkway, Bristow, VA 20136. Make checks payable to Cedar Point Elementary PTA.
