CLAYTON CALVERT LIVINGSTON SR.

Clayton Calvert Livingston Sr. of Devon, PA, previously of Brewster, died at home in Devon on January 9, 2011 with his family nearby.

Mr. Livingston was born May 30, 1929 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was son of the late Donald and Genevieve (Downey) Livingston. He graduated from Cranford, NJ schools then graduated from Union Junior College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi, Alpha Tau Chapter. On Sept. 10, 1955 he married Susanna Soutter in Christ Church in Rye, NY. They lived there for 30 yrs. Before moving to Brewster, NY where they have lived for 20 yrs. before moving to PA a year ago. Mr Livingston was a Registered Architect for Rogers, Butler, Burgun & Bradbury for 20 yrs. then worked for Metropolitan Life as an Eastern Territorial Architect for 15 yrs before retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Brewster and volunteered at the St. Andrews Community Food Pantry, Putnam Hospital Center and Green Chimneys School. He was a member of Manursing Island Club and the Rye Architectural Board of Review.

Besides his wife Susanna he is survived by four children: Clayton Livingston Jr., Sarah Svendsen, Elisabeth Sajed and Deryck Livingston; a sister Olive Weitz and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sun. Jan. 16, 2011 in St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Brewster at 12:00pm.
