Florence S. Fisher of Brewster died Saturday February 19, 2011, at the age of 95. She was born in Yonkers on March 2, 1915, the daughter of Eugene and Helen Dulin Sherwin. Florence graduated from Mahopac High School in 1933 and attended the Drew Seminary in Carmel. She served on the Brewster School Board during the 1950s and was the first woman to serve as its president. She was a life member of the Town of Carmel Historical Society and president of Pennyroyal Farms in Brewster.

On February 4, 1939 she married Donald E. Fisher. He died on September 26, 2005 Florence was the secretary/treasurer of Fisher Brothers Chevrolet in Mahopac since its founding by her husband Donald and his brother Hascal in 1949.

She is survived by her sons, Norman (Susan), Drew (Debra) and Ted; six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as her brother, Elmer Sherwin. She is also survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Holly Murdock Austin.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday February 22, at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. Interment followed at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery in Mahopac Falls.
