Elizabeth M. Lages, of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away on Tuesday April 12, 2011. She was 89. She was born in Yonkers, on April 24, 1921, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Connolly Trevorah.

Mrs. Lages lived in Yorktown for the past 41 years. Prior to moving to Yorktown, she lived in Peekskill and prior to that she was a resident of Mahopac and Yonkers.

Educated in Yonkers, Mrs. Lages was head cashier at A&P in Yonkers and had managed the Peekskill Salvation Army Store for many years. Mrs. Lages enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Senior Citizens One and Two of Yorktown, a former member of the Shrub Oak Senior Citizens, a member of American Legion Auxiliary #1009, AARP of Yorktown, and a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Yorktown, where she was a member of its Altar Rosary Society.

On August 12, 1942, she married Joseph W. Lages Sr. at Holy Eucharist Church in Yonkers. Mr. Lages died on February 3, 1998. She is survived by her sons, Joseph, Jr. and his wife Kirsten of Carmel, and Robert and his wife Karen of Port St. Lucie, FL; her brother Donald of Scarsdale, and sister Madeline Trichter of Monroe, NY; her grandchildren Karen Franqui and her husband Walter, Donna Lages, John Lages and Robert Ashworth; her great grandsons, Marquis Allen and Lowgan Robert; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Mary in 1985 and her granddaughter Elizabeth in 1972.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday April 16 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Interment followed at Union Valley Cemetery, Mahopac. Arrangements were under the direction of Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac.
