Umberto Gabrielli of Brewster died at home on Friday April 29, with his family at his side. He was 84.
Mr. Gabrielli was born July 18, 1926, in Frosinone, Italy, son of the late Antonio and Giulia (Casagrande) Gabrielli. He married Maria Capogna in Boville Ernica, Italy on Nov. 24, 1946. They moved to the United States in 1965 and settled in Queens before moving to Brewster in 1983.
Mr. Gabrielli was a carpenter and worked for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 11 in Hawthorne for 26 years before retiring in 1991
In addition to his wife Maria, Mr. Gabrielli is survived by his three children, Anna Gabrielli Testani of Brewster; Carlo Gabrielli of Brewster; and Luigi Gabrielli of Valley Cottage; a brother, Rocco Gabrielli; two sisters, Giovanna Capogna and Domenica Biordi, all of Italy; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday in St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Interment followed in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury.
