Maria DiGennaro, of Brewster, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2011, in Carmel, at the age of 81.
Mrs. DiGennaro was born January 21, 1930, in Corato, Italy, the daughter of the late Antonio and Nicoletta (Azzariti) Ferrante. She married Rodolfo DiGennaro in Carato, Italy on June 30, 1956. They moved to the United States in 1968 and settled in the Bronx before moving to Brewster six years ago
Mrs. DiGennaro is survived by her two daughters; Luisa Occhipinti and her husband, Bruno, and Nicoletta Pedoto and her husband, Pasquale; a daughter-in-law, Rose DiGennaro; a brother, Michael Ferrante, and his wife, Phyllis; two sisters, Frances Lotito and Rosa Piarulli and her husband Frank; and eight grandchildren; JoJo, John and Joseph Occhipinti; Maria, Giovanna and Antonio DiGennaro; and Giannamaria and Carmine Pedoto. Her husband, Rodolfo, and her son Aldo predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday at St. John’s Church in Pawling, with interment in Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale, NY. Arrangements were handled by the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster.
