Robert O. DiNozzi, of Brewster, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2011, in Mt. Pleasant, NY, at the age of 86.

Mr. DiNozzi was born February 13, 1925, in Villa Santa Maria, Italy, the son of the late Joseph and Mariana (Dilello) DiNozzi. He moved to the United States and settled in the Bronx in 1950. On April 2, 1970, he married Barbara Kolodziejski in Yonkers, where they lived until 1983. They then moved to Port St. Lucie, FL and then moved to Brewster 12 years ago.

Mr. DiNozzi owned Marbona Restaurant in Manhattan, and then owned Roberto’s Restaurant in Crestwood, before retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, of Brewster, he is survived by five children, Susan Furka of San Marcos, CA; Robert DiNozzi Jr. of Katonah; Paul DiNozzi of Chappaqua; Frank DiNozzi of Chicago; and Lisa Venuti of Brewster; a brother, Ettore DiNozzi of Stanford, CT, and a sister, Carmalina Teti of Rome, Italy, as well as thirteen grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on June 3 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster with internment following in Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale. Arrangements were handled by the Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. DiNozzi’s memory may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
