Mary F. Lynch

Mary F. Lynch of Brewster died at home on Friday, June 24, 2011, with her family at her side. She was 85.

Mrs. Lynch was born January 25, 1926, in Danbury, CT, daughter of the late William and Theresa (O’Hara) McCord. She graduated from White Plains High School and Danbury Nursing School as a RN. She served as a nurse for the Cadet Nurse Corp. during WWII. On Sept. 30, 1951, she married William Lynch in White Plains. They lived in White Plains before moving to Brewster 52 years ago. Mrs. Lynch worked at many hospitals in the area before retiring from Putnam Hospital Center. She was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church.

In addition to her husband, William, of Brewster she is survived by her four children—Maureen Gill of Hopewell Junction; Diane Harmon of Lake Carmel; Barbara Fowler of Newtown, CT; and William Lynch of Hopewell Junction: six grandchildren—Amber Gill, Nicholas and Chelsea Fowler, Connor, Lauren and Erin Lynch.

A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on June 27 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Interment followed in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury, CT. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to St. Lawrence O’Toole Church or Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam.
