Francis R. ‘Frank’ Brunow, Sr., age 89, of Dover Plains, NY, formerly of Patterson, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in Carmel.

Frank was born April 7, 1922, in Pawling, to Jules and Harriet V. (Doyle) Brunow. He graduated from schools in Pawling, and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. On October 29, 1961, he married Laura Baker in Patterson.

Frank was owner and operator of Brunow Bros. Plumbing in Patterson until his retirement in 1999.

Through the years, Frank was a member of the Pawling Fire Department and later a life member of the Patterson Fire Department and the Patterson Fire Department Fire Police. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Besides his wife, Laura, Frank is survived by two daughters, Mildred Hartnett of Arizona and Maria Shore of Florida, two sons, Frank Brunow and his wife Catherine of Dover Plains, and Henry Brunow and his wife Chrissy of Pawling; a brother, Thomas Brunow of Biloxi, MS and a sister, Veronica Daniels of Pawling; as well as seven grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Jules and Joseph, and three sisters, Harriet, Helen, and Marie.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 19, at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, and a private cremation followed.
