Lillian Malen Violino

Lillian Malen Violino, resident of Stuart, Florida, and former long-time resident of Lake Carmel, passed away on August 25 at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, at the age of 68.

Lillian is survived by her son, Edward; her daughters, Ann Marie and Angela; her daughter-in-law, Alexis; her sons-in-law, John and Douglas; and her grandchildren, Douglas Jr., Kameron, Jack, and Alexandra.

Lillian was born on January 23, 1943, in Robertsfors, Sweden. She immigrated to the United States with her parents at the age of five, settling in Westchester County. Lillian graduated from White Plains High School and moved to Lake Carmel in the late 60’s. Lillian and her ex-husband, Tony, opened T & L Deli in Cold Spring in 1979. In addition to managing the deli, Lillian raised three children, all of whom worked in the family business.

After selling the deli, Lillian worked a variety of different businesses in the Putnam County area. Lillian moved to Florida 4 years ago to be near her grandchildren, Douglas, Jr. and Kameron. She enjoyed her time in Florida attending D.J. and Kameron’s baseball, hockey, and football games. She helped welcome her two youngest grandchildren, Jack and Alexandra (“Lexi”) in 2007 and 2009 and spent long vacations in Maryland with them.

Visitation was Wednesday, August 31, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m at Cargain Funeral Home in Carmel. A funeral service will be held Thursday morning at Cargain Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
