Beatrice “Bobbie” Abel, 96, of Inverness, Florida, formerly of Carmel, passed away on August 28, 2011. Mrs. Abel was born on April 12, 1915, to Clarence and Jennie (Larson) Johnson in Hartford, Conn. On February 22, 1941 she married Erling Abel in Springfield, Mass. Mrs. Abel was a Massage Therapist and worked in Carmel, Mahopac, and New York City She had lived in Inverness, Florida, for the past 19 years, where she was a member of the Citrus Newcomers Club. When she lived in Carmel, she was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club in Mahopac, Bobbie is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Tompkins and her husband Thomas; two wonderful grandchildren, Karen Tompkins-Greenwood and her husband Carl, and Douglas Tompkins and his wife Becki; three adoring great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Tompkins, Kevin Greenwood and Kyle Greenwood, as well as her niece Joyce Camp and her nephew Ronald Johnson. Bobbie is predeceased by her beloved husband Erling and her brother Clarence Johnson. Arrangements were made by Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel.
