JOSEPH M. QUINN

Joseph M. Quinn of Brewster, New York, died Friday September 2, 2011 in Carmel, New York, at the age of 84.

Mr. Quinn was born June 15, 1927, in Mt. Vernon, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ryan) Quinn. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx in 1945 and served with the Navy from 1945 to 1947.

On June 18, 1949, he married Jacqueline MacDonald in Mt. Vernon. They moved to Brewster 46 years ago and became members of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Mr. Quinn was a Food Distributor for Green County in North Tarrytown for over twenty-five years before retiring in 1990, and worked at local golf courses until recently.

Mr. Quinn is survived by his son Kelly Quinn of Brewster; his daughters

Eileen Butler of Chapel Hill, NC, Susan Quinn of Brewster, and Marybeth Quinn of Monroe, CT. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was recently predeceased by his wife in June of 2011, his son Michael in July of 2011, and a daughter, Kathleen, in 1998.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 6, at 10 am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, in Brewster, with interment following at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury, CT. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, on Monday Sept. 5 from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers or donations the Quinn family asks for your prayers for comfort and peace.
