Theresa Mallon, 73, of Mahopac, passed away on September 18, 2011, surrounded by her loving family after a long valiant battle with cancer, even after a liver transplant.

Mrs. Mallon was born on December 27, 1937 in Japan to Yoshiko and Eikon Matsumoto. On October 26, 1958, she married the love of her life Henry Paul Mallon in Inchon, Korea. Mrs. Mallon was a survivor of the Korean War and the Atomic Bomb. Mrs. Mallon was a homemaker and dedicated her entire life to her family. In her spare time she and her husband enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City, where they had made many friends.

Mrs. Mallon’s most proud and precious passion was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her whole world. She is survived by her devoted husband, Henry; her beloved father, Eikon Matsumoto; her four loving children, Henry Paul Mallon, Jr. and his wife Andrea Mary, Elizabeth Mallon- Buckley and her husband Gerard, Rose Anne Mallon and her fiancée Alfin Vicencio, and her son, George Matsumoto, who lives in Japan; her three sisters who all live overseas, Tomyko, Keiko, and Miyoko; and three adoring grandchildren; Connor Mallon, Pierce Mallon and Miles Buckley. She is predeceased by her mother Yoshiko and her brother Toshio Matsumoto.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 418 Route Six, Mahopac, NY 10541 845- 628-5655.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9:45 a.m. at St. John’s The Evangelist R.C. Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
