Peter C. Jaeger

Peter C. Jaeger was born on July 15, 1942, and died on October 11, 2011. Born in The Bronx, New York, he was the second son of Hugo Jaeger and Clara Bayer Jaeger.

Pete graduated from Ardsley High in the Class of 1960. Just last summer they celebrated their 50th Class Reunion. Pete continued his education at Hartwick College in Oneonta. Pete was employed by Picker X-ray as a senior cost accountant and later at Reichhold Chemicals, Inc. in White Plains.

Pete was a member of the NY radio station, WOR and WHUD Weather Watchers and Storm Spotters. His NY weather station was an official part of the NOAA weather data service in Stormville. Peter received an award for Ten Years of Service to the US Government Weather Observatory Division.

In 2007 Peter and Judy retired to Boiling Springs, South Carolina to be near family. Pete is survived by his wife of 38 years Judy Tirkot Jaeger and their daughters Veronica and Kristin, sons-in-law David and Chris. “Poppy” will be missed by his grandsons, Hunter, Noah and Greyson Hugo.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 14, at the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, officiated by the Rev. Laura Palmer.

Pete’s faith in Jesus Christ gave him the strength and courage throughout his journey to enjoy so many wonderful moments with family and friends.
