Natalie McKenna, age 69, of North Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on October 23, 2011, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring surrounded by her family.
Born in Manhattan and raised in Carmel, New York she later lived in Salem, N.H., and Dover Plains, N.Y., before retiring to North Palm Beach, Fla. She graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Education degree and later earned a master’s degree in education from Suffolk University in Boston.
Natalie taught for many years as a Special Education Teacher in the New York public school system before working her way up through the administration ranks to become an elementary school Principal in one of the largest elementary schools in the state of New York. She took pride in knowing nearly every student by name as she walked the halls of her school.
She loved boating, beaches, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Above all, she was an extraordinary mother who lovingly raised three sons.
Upon retirement, Natalie became a longtime board member and chairman of the North Palm Beach Library.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, J. Bruce McKenna of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; sons, Sean McKenna of Ponte Vedra Beach, Todd McKenna of N. Palm Beach and Kyle McKenna of Durham, N.H.; her mother, Marie Marrone of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a brother, Matthew Marrone of Carmel, NY; and her grandchildren: Justin, Sarah, Jordan, Drew, Tyler, Sadie and Laura.

Private Services will be held at a later date. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
