Please take notice that the Fire Commissioners for the Kent Fire District #1 of the Town of Kent, County of Putnam, New York, will hold their regular monthly meetings on Mondays at 7:30 pm on the following dates: January 16, 2012, February 21, 2012, March 19, 2012, April 16, 2012, May 21, 2012, June 18, 2012, July 16, 2012, August 20, 2012, September 17, 2012, October 15, 2012, November 19, 2012 and December 17, 2012. All meetings of the Kent Fire District are open to the public and held at 2490 Route 301, Carmel, NY 10512.
This notification is being given to the news media pursuant to the provisions of Section 94 of the Public Officers Law of the State of New York.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the County Executive of the County of Putnam at *_Room 300_* of the County Office Building, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York 10512 on the*_18th_* day of January, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. concerning: *A LOCAL LAW* To establish the 2012 salaries of certain Fixed Term Officers adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on December 27, 2011, Resolution R#386.
This Local Law sets the 2012 salaries for the following County Officers appointed for fixed terms at the following amounts effective January 1, 2012:
Robert Bennett, Commissioner of Board of Elections $55,477.00
Anthony Scannapieco, Commissioner of Board of Elections $55,477.00

This Local Law sets the 2012 salary of the Putnam County Executive at $148,635.00

LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY THE TOWN OF PATTERSON BOARD OF APPEALS of a public hearing to be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Patterson Town Hall, 1142 Route 311, Patterson, Putnam County, New York to consider the following applications:  
1)        Patricia Tanzi Case #03-11 – Special Use Permit – Held over from the March 16, 2011, April 25, 2011 and October 19, 2011 meetings
Applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit and area variances pursuant to §154-105 of the Patterson Town Code, Accessory Apartments, in order to legalize her existing accessory apartment. §154-105 A(3) of the Code requires the floor area of the apartment to be no less than 400 square feet and no more than 600 square feet; Applicant has 2,400 square feet; Variance requested is for 1,800 square feet. §154-105 A(4) of the Code states that the floor area of the apartment shall not exceed 35% of the entire livable floor area of the single-family principal dwelling and the accessory apartment combined; Accessory apartment is 44% of the entire livable floor area; Variance requested is for 9%. This property is located at 405 Fair Street (R-4 Zoning District).
2)        Eileen Burdick Case #21-11 – Area Variance; Held over from the December 21, 2011 meeting
Applicant is requesting an area variance pursuant to §154-59 of the Patterson Town Code, Major damage to nonconforming structure. Applicant wishes to rebuild the structure that was destroyed by fire on June 9, 2011. This property is located at 1110 Route 311 (GB Zoning District).
3)        John Rentoulis Case #01-12 – Interpretation
Applicant is requesting an interpretation of §154-55 of the Patterson Town Code, Discontinuance of use, that his pre-existing, nonconforming use was not discontinued for a period of one year. This property is located at 2970 Route 22 (C-1 Zoning District).
4)        Ruth Guffee Case #02-12 – Area Variance
Applicant is requesting an area variance pursuant to §154-27A (12)(a) of the Patterson Town Code, Permitted accessory uses. Applicant wishes to install a generator to service the dwelling and detached garage forward of the dwelling, in the front yard. This property is located at 272 Bullet Hole Road (R-4 Zoning District).
5)        Michael Garrett Case #03-12 – Area Variance
Applicant is requesting an area variance pursuant to §154-59 of the Patterson Town Code, Major damage to nonconforming structure. Applicant wishes to rebuild the structure that was destroyed by fire on June 9, 2011. This property is located 1112 Route 311 (GB Zoning District).
