William L. Winter, of Putnam Valley, passed away on January 3 in Gallatin, Tenn., at the age of 53 with his family by his side.

He was a self-employed carpenter and had also served in the US Navy. He was born on September 16, 1958, in Peekskill, and attended St. Columbanus and Putnam Valley schools.

He was the son of the late Wilbur and Helen (Cassidy) Winter, and the brother of Eileen Winter (Adorno) John and Robert who all predeceased him.

He is survived by his three sisters, Susan Kotzur, Holly (Bidwell) Morrissey and Patricia Kozloski-Fries, along with his loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was talented in many home improvement areas and will be remembered for his craftsmanship and easygoing nature.

Services and interment will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley on Saturday, January 21 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or ASPCA. For more information contact Rose Hills at 845-528-3516.
