Narrow Escape for Youth on Thin Ice
Oil delivery worker raises alarm, calls for rescue
A 17-year-old Putnam Lake youth is lucky to be alive after falling into Putnam Lake when a thin coating of ice cracked beneath him as he was hiking along the body of water on Monday. It was shortly after 11 o’clock when Brewster State Police received a dispatch from the county’s 911 Center in Carmel reporting a person through the ice.
