Carmel Fire Dept. Installs New Leadership For 2012
The Carmel Fire Department installed officers for 2012 as more than 200 guests gathered Saturday evening at the Ceola Manor in Jefferson Valley for the affair.
Carmel’s new Chief Robert Lipton missed the evening since he and his wife were stranded in Florida and unable to return to New York due to Saturday’s snow storm that closed area airports. Full Story

Music Fees for Concerts to Increase
Outdoor musical performances this summer performed at the Mahopac Chamber of Commerce Park will be costing taxpayers a few dollars more this year.
The Carmel Town Board last week approved spending $325 for ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) which assess municipalities fees for outdoor performances featuring music authored by professional composers. Full Story
Ambulance Corps Swears In Officers For 2012
Three new officers are leading the Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps this year.
Captain Peter Jones and Lieutenants David Jacobsen and Andrew Wiese were administered their oaths of office Sunday at the corps’ annual installation breakfast.
The corps serves the greater Carmel hamlet area and last year responded to 1,000 emergency calls. Full Story
