Carmel’s Pecora earns 100th career win
MAHOPAC—After spending almost two weeks wrestling at tournaments throughout the Northeast, the Mahopac High wrestling team got back into league competition this week and picked up two wins. After opening with Tuesday’s 48-33 win at Yorktown High, the Indians (16-4, 3-0) beat Carmel, 60- 17, at Carmel last Thursday and have now won 13 straight dual meets. Full Story
Bears Swimmers Pick Up Two Easy Wins
BREWSTER—With the season winding down, the Brewster High swim team picked up two more wins, after beating Beacon High 48-39 on Tuesday, the Bears (10-1) topped Peekskill High 56-31. Full Story
Lady Rams Roll Past Bears, Tuskers, Improve to 9-4
CARMEL—Sabrina Diaz had 14 points, and Alyssa D’Apice added 13 points and three assists to lead the Carmel High girls basketball team to a 53-36 victory over Brewster in a League 1B game played Friday at Brewster.
The Bears also handed Somers a 48-40 setback the prior Wednesday on the road, and finished the week at 9-4 overall and 4-0 in the league. Full Story

PUTNAM VALLEY—A week ago the Putnam Valley High boys basketball team lost its league opener thanks in part to a disappointing defensive effort. Since then it has been much better, leading the Tigers (7-5, 3-1) to three straight wins including Thursday’s 57-36 win at home against Lincoln Hall and Friday’s 69- 53 at Hendrick Hudson High. Indians Roll Past North Salem Behind Ankier’s 29
MAHOPAC—Mahopac’s Zack Ankier dropped a 29-point explosion on the Tigers of North Salem last Friday, leading the ‘Pac to a 69-44 victory in a League 1B outing at North Salem.
Ankier, who finished with a careerhigh in points, also grabbed seven rebounds. Marc Vaccaro had nine points and six assists for Mahopac, and Ryan Simone added eight points. Full Story

Lacrosse’s popularity has reached new heights throughout Putnam County—so much so that a new organization—Carmel Rams Youth Lacrosse—has formed in the county seat.
